Simcoe County Kicks Off Leaf and Yard Waste Collection Next Week

April 1st, 2026 - Simcoe County residents, it's time to get your yard waste to the curb! Collection begins the weeks of April 6 and April 13, running alongside your regular garbage pickup schedule.

Over the course of April and May, households will have four collection opportunities, each falling on a garbage week. To ensure pickup, have your materials out by 7 a.m. Monday of your collection week — crews may come any day, so leave everything curbside if it isn't grabbed right away. The final two collection windows are the weeks of May 18 and May 25.

Accepted materials include leaves, grass clippings, garden waste, and appropriately sized and bundled branches. Use kraft paper yard waste bags, cardboard boxes, or open-ended rigid containers — no plastic bags. Brush must be properly bundled and secured.

Note: This program does not cover the cities of Barrie or Orillia.
