Tiny Seniors Symposium Returns June 17: A Day of Learning, Connection & Celebration
Tiny Township's annual Senior Symposium is back, offering local seniors and caregivers a perfect opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate.
The free event takes place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Township of Tiny Community Centre (91 Concession Road 8 East).
Hosted by the Township of Tiny's Senior Advisory Committee, the symposium features informative presentations from local experts, including:
- Memory Intervention for Older Adults – Dr. Farena Pinnock, Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist, Pathway to Healing
- Emergency Preparedness – Sahar Balvardi, Senior Emergency Management Coordinator, Canadian Red Cross – Simcoe Muskoka
- Community Paramedicine Home Visit Program – Christy Campbell, County of Simcoe
The day will also include the presentation of the Senior of the Year Award, which honours a local resident who has made outstanding contributions to the social, cultural, or civic life of the Township of Tiny after the age of 65.
Attendees will receive an update on Tiny's new Age-Friendly Community Plan and a copy of the enhanced 2026-2028 North Simcoe Directory of Senior Services.
"Lunch and plenty of time to socialize are all part of the day," say organizers. "It's an ideal spot for older adults to learn about valuable programs and services while connecting with others in the community."
Mayor David Evans added: "As part of our commitment to being an age-friendly community, this symposium is designed specifically for seniors — helping them stay informed, safe, and connected."
